  • Don't forget to complete your participation self-assessment form for Term 2. You can find the document here. Submit the completed evaluation to your course OWL dropbox. You can upload a completed copy or even just submit your answers as a typed list in a new document. This should be done by April 8th.

  • Your FINAL CAPSTONE ESSAY is due by April 4th and should be uploaded to your course OWL dropbox.

  • All of these final deliverables qualify for my no-questions-asked 2 day late policy. After this 2 days, I can also offer extended grace periods to be discussed as long as you let me know.

Week 23-Apr 4

Is Security Possible?

Course Wrap Up and Review

***Deliverables Due Today- See Above***

  • Jarvis and Holland textbook: Chapter 7, Chapter 8, Conclusion

FOR THIS WEEK YOU WILL HAVE SOME (INTERESTING) HOMEWORK:

In conjunction with perusing the last few chapters of the text book, please make sure to watch the documentary "Fog of War" (2003) (LINK HERE)  before class and think about these questions:

1) What course-related themes jump out at you about the documentary?

2) Do any of McNamara's 11 Lessons, discussed in the film, shed light onto any of our discussions in the course?

  • At the end of the course we will talk about the Fog of War documentary and take stock of our learning and ideas developed through the course. Students will reflect on whether or not they've met the learning objectives of the course and discuss their biggest take-aways and outstanding questions.

  • Rather than do the long wrap up lecture in class, I'd like us to spend more time discussing and sharing our thoughts. So here is a short "wrap up lecture" that you can watch on your own time if you don't get a chance to watch it before our final class.
