Module MATERIALS

W12, W13, W14

In these first weeks back from the break, we discuss various challenges related to international law and organization within a regional context such as intra-regional cooperation and conflict and the coexistence of regional arrangements with multilateral institutions.

There are no formal lectures this term and instead, our meetings will be more of a seminar style. They are primarily based on your presentations and discussions. Your issue presentations begin the week of Jan 18th (W 13). As discussed and as outlined HERE, your presentations will be pre-recorded. Post a link to your presentation on the OWL FORUMS HERE so that all of your classmates can view it before class. Class time will be devoted to your discussions and other things like comments from me and the occasional guest speaker.

THE SCHEDULE OF STUDENT PRESENTATIONS CAN BE FOUND HERE

SLIDE DECK FOR WINTER TERM INTRO FOUND HERE

W13 PRESENTATIONS: BREXIT; East Asian Regionalism

W14 PRESENTATIONS: USMCA; African Regional Peacekeeping

The following is a list of reading pertinent to this Module. Make sure you're logged in to OWL in your browser before clicking on the reading links.

NEW Jan 15/2021: Fascinating Twitter thread on COVAX and procurement of vaccines by the African Union can be found  HERE.  Super relevant follow-up to our jigsaw discussions.
